Catherine Anyango is a Swedish/Kenyan artist whose work "explicitly reconstructs a domestic domain where women are seemingly suppressed and relegated to preside over linen, beds and dishes." She works with drawing, film and sculpture to re-evaluate the domestic interior, and show the disruption of these spaces by emotional, intangible phenomena.

Catherine has published, exhibited and lectured internationally. In September 2010 the publication of her graphic novel adaptation of Heart of Darkness was met with critical acclaim including the Observer's Graphic Novel of the Month. She is currently a tutor in Visual Communication at the Royal College of Art.
